The Topsa Score

A single, transparent 0–100 score for the best of Mauritius.

Topsa exists to answer one question: what's actually the best? Google reviews are noisy. Word-of-mouth is patchy. Sponsored "top 10" articles are pay-to-play. So we built a simple, defensible score.

The formula

• Quality (30%) — average rating from reviews.
• Volume (15%) — how many reviews back that quality, on a log curve.
• Value (15%) — a 0–5 value rating relative to price level.
• Criteria (25%) — category-specific checklist (e.g. lifeguards on a beach, allergen menu at a restaurant).
• Verification (15%) — whether our team physically or documentarily verified the business.

Featured or paid placement does not influence the score. Business owners can improve their score by earning better reviews, meeting more criteria, and getting verified. No shortcuts.

Recomputation

Scores recompute automatically whenever a listing, review or criteria answer changes. Ranking is live.
